Deadline: 25 July 2026, 23:59 CET – deadline for free musical performance proposals. - Target Audience: Civil society entities from the 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries, partnering with local administrations (municipalities, cultural institutions, regional bodies) to organise free, non-profit musical performances in public spaces on the Day of the Mediterranean. 2026 Theme: Sounds That Meet in the Med – highlighting how different cultures can come together on the same stage through music, creating a living dialogue and deeper mutual understanding when communities discover what they share. Opportunity Summary: The Anna Lindh Foundation invites civil society organisations to organise simultaneous free musical performances (non-profit, no ticket sales) across the Euro-Mediterranean region on 28 November 2026. Performances must be held in partnership with local administrations and hosted in public spaces, showcasing cross-cultural musical encounters, diversity, strong community roots and intercultural added value. What the Call Offers (Funding & Support):
  • Support to organise a live, cross-cultural musical performance between 1.5 and 2 hours on 28 November 2026 in a public, accessible space.
  • Lump sum funding of up to €3,500 per selected leading entity to cover organisational costs (venue, equipment, materials, fees, local transport, main meals, etc.).
  • Additional funding of up to €500 for proposals that professionally live stream the concert and share the recording with the ALF Secretariat.
  • Visibility through ALF regional outreach campaigns and audio-visual materials to promote the initiative across the Euro-Med region.
Who Can Apply:
  • Civil society entities from the 43 Euro-Med countries (including countries listed in the call such as Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Türkiye, etc.).
  • Applicants must partner with a local administration (municipality, cultural institution, or regional body) to organise a free musical performance in a public space.
  • Applications can be submitted in English, French or Arabic via the online form only.
  • The same entity cannot submit more than one application to this call, and cannot be selected under both this call and the parallel “ALF Cultural and Intercultural Activities in Matera and Tetouan” call.
What You Need to Do to Apply:
  • Reach an agreement in principle with a local administration partner (municipality, cultural institution, regional body) to co-organise the free musical performance.
  • Identify an accessible public space open to all (square, park, community centre, etc.) that can host a large audience.
  • Identify a local music group or artists with clear intercultural added value, bringing together diverse cultural and cross-cultural sounds.
  • Complete the online application form, including a detailed budget breakdown using the provided template, and outline your idea and the value the concert will bring to your local community.
Tasks for Selected Lead Organisations:
  • Conclude a written agreement (contract/MoU/support letter) with the local administration defining roles and responsibilities (space, permits, logistics, dissemination, etc.).
  • Contract a local group of musicians with strong intercultural added value to perform a 1.5–2 hour concert on 28 November 2026.
  • Sign a contract with ALF detailing obligations and expected outputs.
  • Design an event poster following ALF guidelines and use it across social media.
  • Create a Facebook event with time and location, adding ALF as co-host.
  • Deliver the free musical performance (non-profit, no ticket sales), ensuring clear visibility of ALF and the EU.
  • Provide at least five professional photos showing the audience, event and impact.
  • Produce and publish a short video on Instagram and/or Facebook highlighting key moments of the performance.
  • Complete the final evaluation form and actively participate in online meetings organised by the ALF Secretariat.
Selection Criteria:
  • Engagement of the local administration in the free musical performance (30%).
  • Music group’s added value in terms of diversity/interculturalism and community rooting (30%).
  • Local dissemination plan for the free musical performance (10%).
  • Environmental sustainability, gender equality and social responsibility approach (9%).
  • Inclusive target audience at community level (6%).
  • Overall objective and quality of the proposal (15%).
  • Priority for ALF Network members and organisations not previously funded under past ALF cultural/intercultural calls, with attention to gender, youth and geographic balance.
Financial Allocation & Payment Modalities:
  • Applications must include a comprehensive, detailed budget covering all necessary elements (venue, equipment, live streaming, materials, fees, local transport, main meals, etc.).
  • Co-funding by applicants or local administrations is strongly recommended to leverage resources and increase beneficiaries.
  • Each selected leading entity receives a lump sum of up to €3,500, with up to €500 extra for professional live streaming.
  • A written agreement between the applicant and local administration is required before signing the contract.
  • 60% of the allocation is paid upon proof of social media posts tagging official ALF Facebook and Instagram accounts before the performance.
  • 40% is paid after the performance, upon delivery of professional photos, the short video, and the lessons learned report.
Indicative Timeline:
  • 25 June 2026: Launch of the call for participation.
  • 7 July 2026, 12:00 CET: Online information session – join via this link.
  • 25 July 2026: Deadline to submit free musical performance proposals (by 23:59 CET).
  • First half of September 2026: Announcement of selected free musical performances.
  • 28 November 2026: Implementation of the free (non-profit, no ticket sales) musical performance on the Day of the Mediterranean.
  • Post‑selection and post‑implementation online meetings for coordination and ex‑post evaluation with selected entities.
