Graduate Sabbatical Grants – Institute for Humane Studies (IHS)
Deadline:

Target Audience:
Full-time PhD candidates who have advanced to candidacy (ABD) and postdoctoral fellows at any university worldwide, with priority given to applicants at top research institutions.
Opportunity Summary:
Graduate Sabbatical Grants provide up to $15,000 to buy out teaching or research duties for one semester, enabling recipients to focus on completing critical milestones such as dissertation chapters, publications, or conference presentations early in their academic careers. Grants may be renewed for exceptional progress. Summer fellowships are also available. Awardees must provide updates on significant milestones during the sabbatical.
Eligibility Criteria:

Enrolled full-time PhD students advanced to candidacy or postdoctoral fellows.

Prior participation in IHS programs not required.

Research should align with IHS focus areas (Liberalism, Pluralism, Democracy; Speech and Intellectual Freedom; Equality, Peace, and Prosperity; Business and the Good Society).

Priority to applicants from leading research institutions.

Grants do not cover institutional overhead or indirect costs.
